MultiGrip is a single-pack solvent based paint system with good slip resistance properties. It is manufactured using a tough epoxy-ester based product, for high build, stable colour retention and good wear characteristics. It contains a slip-resist particle to increase the slip resistance value, can be fully machine or hand applied, and is fast drying to minimise closures & downtime.It is ideally suited for safe walkways and has been used very sucessfully on airfields, ports and docks, distribution centres, car parks and retail shopping centres, to name just a few examples

The application surface should be sound and clean, free from grease, oil, rust, scale, dirt, or any other soiling that might affect adhesion or performance. In any case, but especially in the case of overcoating existing line markings, it is further recommended that test areas be coated to ensure good adhesion and/or compatibility with the substrate.
Bituminous surfaces – weathered - It is recommended that asphalt, tarmacadam and other similar surfaces be allowed to through harden for up to 6 months before painting. Test trials should be carried out in the first instance on a small area.
Concrete & other cementitious surfaces – including powerfloat, tamped or brushed concrete, monoblocks & pavers – Ensure surface is sound, clean and free from laitance – we recommend a preparation method suitable for the specific location and surface is carried out before application of product, to ensure surface is properly prepared back to clean and sound substrate.
Examples of preparation methods that may be suitable are captive shot blasting, diamond grinding, scabbling or planing. It is critical that utmost attention is paid to cleanliness and good workmanship, whatever preparation method is used, as the presence of any loose material, dust, soiling or previous coatings are likely to reduce adhesion of new coatings.
New concrete should be left to harden before coating, as the curing process and residual moisture content can lead to product delamination if coated too early.
Primers: We recommend that all cementitious surfaces are primed with FP Line Primer or Etch Primer. This includes power float concrete and monoblocks & pavers.
Stir thoroughly before application.
If using airless spray equipment to apply, DO NOT add molochite, as it will cause blocking in equipment.
If applying by hand, add molochite and stir thoroughly into the MultiGrip before decanting into tray
Thinning: This product is supplied ready to use and need not be thinned. If thinning is required, Type II Thinner may be used, up to 20% by volume.
Application techniques: we highly recommend the use of airless spray equipment as this will provide the best finish
Take care to apply evenly and do not over-apply as this will severely inhibit the curing process and is likely to result in damage to bituminous surfaces due to excessive exposure to solvents. It is particularly important to exercise the utmost care when coating any bituminous surface – we recommend the application of a light mist coat first, allowing time for full cure of mist coat, then followed with a full coat. We recommend the use of masking tape to protect against overspray & provide neat edge finish where required.
Airless spray – use 0.031” tip or larger, with spray angle to suit application. Do not use a lining tip (such as a Graco LL5) as this is likely to leave “tramline” effect.
Roller or brush application – use medium pile roller or good quality brush. When using a roller, it is MOST IMPORTANT to decant MultiGrip into a roller tray or scuttle – DO NOT simply pour the product directly onto the surface and spread with a roller or squeegee as this will inevitably result in excessive film build, preventing normal curing and possible damage to substrate.
Touch dry: 5-10 minutes @ 15 deg C
Walk on time: 10-20 minutes @ 15 deg C
Traffic time: 20-40 minutes @ 15 deg C
Full cure: 1-4 hours @ 15 deg C
Recoat: 1-2 hours @ 15 deg C
