DekorCryl is an acrylic co-polymer emulsion, specifically formulated as an additive for void-sealer slurry coats used for sealing porous, bituminous substrates in preparation for the application of resin bond coats.
Features & Benefits:
- Increases workability of slurry mix
- Improves adhesion of slurry to the surface
- Helps to prevent bleeding of bitumen
- Once laid, the void filler helps maintain correct coverage of resin
All surfaces to be sealed should be thoroughly clean and dry. Any oil contamination should be thoroughly washed away using a mild detergent.
DekorCryl is designed to be mixed with kiln dried sand and cement to void-fill bituminous surfaces. It is essential to void-fill in order to maintain correct coverage rate of resins and prevent resin soaking away into the surface during or after application of aggregate. DekorCryl is added to a mixture of kiln dried sand and cement which is approximately proportioned at 4 parts of sand to 1 part cement measured by volume. The consistency of the resulting mixture should be semi-liquid slurry and no water should be added - DekorCryl is the only liquid element used.
The slurry mixture is poured on to the surface and spread using a flat squeegee, forcing the material into the surface texture and leaving a membrane of no more than 1mm over the surface.
Temperature of application: Recommended surface temperature during application should be between 5°C and 30°C.
Do not apply when the air or surface temperature is below 5°C or less than 3°C above dew point, or if this is likely to occur during the curing period.
Do not apply when there is rain, mist, fog, or snow imminent; when humidity is high or the surface is wet with condensation or likely to be during the drying period.
The drying time of DekorCryl is approximately 4-8 hours in a warm dry atmosphere. As the material is an emulsion, humidity will greatly affect the drying time and heavy rain will wash away newly laid material away. As well as the surface becoming totally dry, the surface needs to become hard prior to the application of resins.
Care must be taken to ensure the DekorCryl has fully cured before applying any DekorGrip resin system.
